Itumbaha: Everyday Aesthetic
On March 3, 2023, the BFA 2021 Spring batch students curated the ‘ITUMBAHA: Everyday Aesthetics’ exhibition at Ithumbahal’s courtyard. Under the guidance of Sujan Dangol and Sujan Chitrakar, 30 artists from the batch displayed their talent through oil paintings and pen-and-ink drawings. The exhibition provided a platform for the emerging artists to showcase their creative expressions, turning the Ithumbahal courtyard into a vibrant canvas of everyday aesthetics.

The exhibition was the outcome of the students’ artistic exploration during the second semester of their second year in the BFA program. They rendered Ithumbahal’s houses in both oil paintings and pen-and-ink drawings. Moreover, the students depicted the locals of Ithumbahal through oil paintings on canvas.
Displaying their artwork in the Ithumbahal courtyard significantly connected the students with the community, fostering a sense of closeness. The local residents of Ithumbahal actively engaged with and expressed genuine interest in the exhibition. The event attracted a substantial audience from both Ithumbahal and its surrounding areas.
